Surrey's staff is dedicated and passionate about the organization.  While they have varied backgrounds they all share the common goal of delivering the best possible services to seniors throughout the community.

Meet the senior staff:

Barbara J. Fentress
President & Chief Executive Officer

Barbara J. Fentress is President and CEO of Surrey Services having succeeded as President and Executive Director, Jeanne La Rouche, who founded the organization in 1981.  Imbued with the principle of “neighbor helping neighbor,” Surrey was a pioneer in organizing a model to facilitate aging in place through access to an array of supportive services to help older adults to live at home with independence and dignity and to continue as active members of the community.

During her tenure as President of Surrey, she oversaw mergers and acquisitions helping to grow the organization to four locations.  Barbara had been Chief Financial Officer for Surrey since November 2005.

In 2014, Ms. Fentress was honored by the Chester County March of Dimes as its Woman of Achievement.  Previously, in 2013, Ms. Barbara was selected as the Business Person of the Year by the Paoli Business and Professional Association.

Ms. Fentress has been an invited speaker on national and regional panels and forums on the topics of aging issues and nonprofit sustainability.  In March 2013 and 2014, she spoke at the American Society on Aging’s national conferences in Chicago and San Diego on the subject of “Building Sustainability by Strengthening Participation of Senior Volunteers in Your Organization.”  She is an active speaker on behalf of the United Way’s Community Impact Fund and has been a guest on local radio and television shows.

Barbara serves as Vice Chair of the Board of the Upper Main Line YMCA, in Berwyn. PA. She has previously served on the board of Daemion Counseling Center, located in Berwyn, PA.

Lauren Christiansen
Senior Director, Development

Lauren brings 20 years of fundraising and development experience to Surrey.  She has worked successfully in educational institutions, the health care industry and most recently in local organizations including the YMCA of the Upper Main Line.  Lauren is a graduate of Rosemont College. 

Linda DiMaggio
Senior Director, Compliance & Reporting

Linda is responsible for all the compliance and reporting requirements in the organization.  Additionally, she manages Information Technology, Membership and Volunteer Programs.  Linda has experience in both the corporate and non-profit arenas. She has two master’s degrees from Drexel University and Cabrini College.
 

Suzanne McElroy
Director of Finance

Suzanne is responsible for all Finance and Human Resources functions at Surrey.  A Lansdowne resident, she joined Surrey in 2009. Ms. McElroy holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Villanova University.

Caroline Metz
Senior Director, Community & Member Relations

Caroline joined Surrey in 1999 as a volunteer. Formerly employed in the corporate world for many years, Caroline brings a wide range of experience to Surrey.

Wendy Walsh
Geriatric Care Manager

Wendy Walsh is a registered nurse who graduated from Abington Memorial Hospital School of Nursing.  She has more than 34 years of experience. Wendy is certified by the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America as a Qualified Dementia Care Specialist.

Monica Paulino
Senior Director, Home Services

Monica has 20 years of experience in geriatric care.  She oversees all aspects of Surrey's in home services including Home Care, House Cleaning and Daily Money Management. Monica holds a degree in Music from Immaculata University.
