Introduction

Surrey's Berwyn location houses not only the center, but also Surrey Home Services, our administrative offices and The Surrey Consignment Shop.   Surrey - Berwyn is open 8:30 - 4:30 on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and 8:30 - 5 on Tuesday and Thursday.  The Consignment Shop and Fitness Center are also open on Saturdays.

Surrey - Berwyn offers a wide variety of both activities and volunteer opportunities, all designed to encourage healthy living and lifelong learning.  Lunch is available Monday to Thursday from 11:30 - 12: 30 for a recommended donation of $3, and on two Fridays during the month.  The center is accredited by the National Institute of Senior Centers (NISC), one of only approximately 200 centers in the country that have received this accreditation.

Our goal is to help older adults create a new world for themselves, to make new friends, enjoy new experiences and build on a sense of self-worth--not just through involvement in programs and activities, but by helping others.

Classes & Activities

Surrey's activities offer something for everyone: a world of learning, achieving and discovering.

From the museum to the casino, from the lecture series to the exercise class, Surrey strives to address the mental, physical and social needs of our members.

Intergenerational activities keep us in touch with the younger generation. Fitness programs offer workouts for the athletic and the armchair-bound. Outings to local restaurants tempt taste buds and build friendships.

Our mission is to make these programs available to everyone regardless of ability to pay, and we subsidize fees as needed.

Shared Ride Service

Surrey provides a “shared ride” service which is similar to carpooling with other seniors in your area.   This door-to-door service is available weekdays from 8 - 5. There is a fare for this service which varies based on your age (over or under age 65), your county, and the distance traveled.  Riders must register with Community Transit (Delaware County) or Rover (Chester County). Please call in advance as all reservations are on a first come, first serve basis.
