Fragments of the Past: Piecing Together Cultural History from Pottery Shards

This presentation by archaeology students from West Chester University Department of Anthropology and Sociology, and Museum of Anthropology and Archaeology, will explore the ways in which archaeologists utilize material artifacts to better understand our human past. Seniors will be able to handle replicas of pot sherds, learn to take measurements used for reconstructing pottery vessels, and examine simple stylistic motifs.
