On Friday, November 7, Surrey celebrated the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting of its new Center for Healthy Living in Devon. Brian Duke, Pennsylvania’s Secretary of Aging, officiated the ribbon cutting ceremony. Secretary Duke spoke about the importance of the role that the Center plays in making our community vital and vibrant.
Barbara Fentress, Surrey President & CEO, expressed her gratitude to the community for their incredible outpouring of support to make this Center a reality. The new state-of-the-art Center will offer more activities, classes and lifelong learning opportunities as well as a bright and welcoming fitness center. With the expanded space, Surrey has added more nutrition, creative arts, technology, and exercise options.
Following the Ribbon Cutting, the Surrey Chorus performed for a packed audience. In the evening Surrey hosted a Chairman’s Reception for the hundreds of people that came to celebrate. The reception was held in Surrey’s new café which is open and bright. The café is open for lunch Monday – Thursday from 11:30 to 12:30 and most Fridays. Surrey is encouraging all members of the community to visit the center.
