Surrey Home Care Services, a division of Surrey Services for Seniors, held a celebration of caregiving to kick off National Caregivers Month, celebrated nationwide during November.

Surrey CEO and President Bob Madonna welcomed Surrey’s social companions, personal caregivers and house cleaners, and expressed the deep appreciation Surrey feels for their work helping to keep older adults independent and active in our community.

Bob Madonna presented three awards:

  • John Yarsiah was lauded for 10 years of service. Clients request him by name as his reputation for care excellence is well known in the Surrey community.
  • Claire Richardson was honored for 5 years of service as a social companion. She is very well liked by clients and a great communicator.
  • Jonathan Wald was given Surrey Home Care’s highest honor, the Caring Heart award. Jonathan has been with Surrey since 2013. Jonathan won the attendance award in July of 2016 and is a true embodiment of the caring, compassion care that Surrey represents.
